It's at least a two hour drive (maybe more like 3) to get there from Highway 395. Last May, we stayed at Curry Village in Yosemite, Grant’s Grove cabin (those really awesome ones on website) and John Muir Lodge (right next door to cabins, just worked out that way). I'd say grab a quick hotel in porterville for kings canyon and sequoia, then drive up to a different hotel in Oakhurst for Yosemite.

I’ve been to Yosemite three times now and love staying in a cabin AirB&B or VRBO in Fish Camp. It’s only a few miles to to the park and I can stock up on groceries on the way there in Oakhurst. Never had any safety concerns and have had a lovely time each visit. There are 9 campgrounds in Yosemite National Park that can accommodate RVs and trailers. These campgrounds are North Pines, Lower Pines, Upper Pines, Crane Flat, Hodgdon Meadow, Wawona, Bridalveil Creek, White Wolf, and Tuolumne Meadows.
