Weeki Wachee is basically a commercialized tourist trap. I would recommend Silver Springs over Weeki Wachee any day. If you are truly dead set on Weeki Wachee, I would recommend trying a put in area that is not the park to avoid senseless hurdles and spending unnecessary money.

If I remember correctly it is between 20 and 30 minutes. If I recall correctly, it was about 40 minutes. Well worth the time. Most of the wildlife was birds, turtles and we saw one alligator. The scenery gives you a taste of "old Florida". About 45 minutes long.
