Honda odyssey sliding doors not working

I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey with 80000 miles. I have been having sliding door problems and the "sliding door" warning has appeared on my dash. I could live with this but I am now having battery problems with even a new battery. I brought it to Dealer and diagnostics showed problem with Latching Mechanism, door not completely closing and calling for small charge to close the door.
